The MIDI events that QMidi is sending should appear in MIDI Monitor. Load and play my 'test2-.' MIDI file (the one that just turns one stop on then off) from QMidi. Launch QMidi (but don't launch Hauptwerk). ' and " Spy on output to destinations" are *not* ticked. Launch it, expand its 'MIDI sources' node, and make sure that the only entry ticked is the one for the IAC Driver, and that " Act as a destination. Download and install the latest version of Snoize MIDI Monitor: Exit Hauptwerk and QMidi if they're running. On your Mac it sends two NRPN 'on' messages, rather than one 'on' and one 'off', which is why the stop isn't getting turned off in Hauptwerk for you.Ĭould you try the following test, which will allow me to see the specific MIDI CC component messages that's it's sending (whereas Hauptwerk only logs the resulting NRPN messages that they form)?: It appears from your diagnostic file that QMidi is simply sending incorrect MIDI NPRN messages when playing the MIDI file on your Mac, which is odd because it's sending them correctly on mine. (The backup file is just in case I also then need to try it with your combination set, since combinations get saved in backups but not in diagnostic files.)įrom your diagnostic file I should then be able to see exactly what MIDI messages QMidi is sending to Hauptwerk as it plays the file, and what those MIDI messages are triggering, and compare it to what QMidi is sending on my Mac. Email the diagnostic file to Francois at support, mentioning this topic and that the file is for me, so that he can pass it on to me. (Still without touching anything else in Hauptwerk), wait until QMidi has finished playing it, then use " Help | Create a diagnostic file. Without touching anything else in Hauptwerk (so that the relevant MIDI messages can be identified easily in the log), use QMidi to play the file again. " screen tab and OK the screen (and OK the warning about performance). Temporarily turn on the " Diagnostics: log all MIDI messages received and sent" option on the " General settings | General preferences | Advanced. Now try playing the MIDI file from QMidi. For good measure, click the general cancel button on Hauptwerk's Registration large control panel. Try my new MIDI file within Hauptwerk's built-in player to verify that it plays correctly (corresponding to my description above). Launch the 'alt config', load the Reuter, and (for good measure) make sure that an all-blank combination set is loaded. This one waits a few seconds, then turns on just the Great First Open Diapason 8, then waits about 5 seconds, then turns it off again. Test2-ReuterPortland.zip (721 Bytes) Downloaded 59 times
